One-Anothering

4 to 6 weeks

Assignments Due: 2-Page Care plan for a problem or sin in your life

Description: This class is intended for all Christians, especially home group leaders and church leaders to enter into more intentional care for one another. One-Anothering examines the biblical commands found in the New Testament on right relationships with others. A different case study will be examined each week and as you learn how to build a care plan to minister to individual’s particular needs. The hope is that this class will equip and empower your church to develop deeper relationships, care for one another, and walk beside those struggling with sin and suffering.


Biblical Counseling I – Introduction to Biblical Counseling

12 Weeks

Assignments Due: Read 4 books, memory verses, self assessment, in-class counseling

Description: An introduction in Biblical Counseling. The class will provide a definition of Biblical Counseling and its origins. The differences between various types of counseling and the theology behind each. An understanding of sanctification and the process of Biblical change to include an understanding of the heart, desires, and emotions and how to counsel one another. It will cover an introduction into theology and a theology of Biblical Counseling. The following topics will be explored: Scripture, Trinity, Salvation, Sanctification, Story of Scripture, Hermeneutics, and Spiritual Formation.


Biblical Counseling II – Typical Problems in Biblical Counseling

12 Weeks, 1 Weekend

Assignments: Read 4 books, 5-page topic paper, counseling and supervision.

Description: An overview of how the typical problems experienced in Biblical Counseling. We will cover guilt, forgiveness, trials, fear and anger, sexual sin, addictions, medical issues, and extreme cases. An overview of God’s good gift of marriage. Marital Biblical Counseling topics of gender roles, sex, communication, conflict, separation and divorce, affairs. Biblical Parenting and discipleship of children.


Church Leadership Care Training

2 Weeks

Description: An overview of a Care ministry for Pastors, Elders, and church leaders. We cover the necessity of caring for members of the church, basics of biblical counseling, differences in counseling types and methods, making effective referrals to outside counselors, church discipline, and burnout prevention. We will review and discuss case studies.
