In Equipping Biblical Counselors, Bob Kellemen shares his four-step strategy for Biblical counseling ministry that has been refined over the past decades. The aim of this book is to come alongside church leaders to envision, enlist, equip, and empower Christians to Counsel one another. In talking about Mission, Vision, Passion, and Commission (MVP-C), Kellemen provides examples from some of the top Biblical Counseling centers. These are helpful to understand their importance and value. One of the most important parts of any ministry is to ensure everyone is aligned and passionate about the direction of the ministry.
Biblical Counselors are soul physicians who understand people, diagnose problems, and prescribe solutions-biblically. We also need to be church cardiologists who understand our church and community, diagnose the heart condition of the culture where we minister, and prescribe God’s cures-biblically.

This book is helpful to pastors and church leaders that desire to care for and disciple their church through biblical counseling. The book is arranged with a logical progression that makes it easy to go back and dive deeper into specific topics. While I found the book very well written and thought out, I struggled reading the book and often found myself skimming and skipping sections. The stories and examples didn’t always add to the clarity and understanding of the topic. Often I found myself wanting a little more substance to each section. I found the second half of the much more applicable and engaging. Overall, I recommend the book as being a helpful guide for churches and counseling ministries.
